The Beatles: "Ooh, 'elp us! 'Elp us!"

Mum went shopping in the morning, before I even woke up I think. Bought me stuff for the house - like insect baits...

Made coffees. I measured the proportions better this time - cos the espresso said it was 60ml, but it actually turned out to be more like 30. So I halved the amount of milk. Probably still too weak.

Watched Hopman Cup tennis. Nyeh.

Finished reading Bono on Bono. It was good, except a bit too repetitive - I mean, what you'd expect since it was conversational style. Also, I didn't like the interviewer. OH WELL!

Started reading The Great Divorce. It is not very long. Which is nice.

One of the chickens is sitting and won't stop. So we gave it one egg, then another chicken laid in the same box, so it now has two.
The chickens in general were having a big commotion at one stage. Probably a goshawk.

Didn't really write any more story, but went back to the start to read through and do editing. AGAIN.

Had a really scrappy tea, since parents went out for theirs. At about 7 or something? Crazy....

Watched Futurama, The Simpsons, Mr Bean and Friends.
Then, when parents came back, watched part of the Elton John concert, then The Beatles: Love, which is some collaboration with the Cirque de Solei. A documentary on it, anyway.

Then watched The Beatles: Help, which is one of their films. Nice and zany - almost a forerunner to Monty Python or something like that.

Grandpa Simpson: "Now, what I'm with isn't 'it' and what is 'it' seems weird and strange to me"

Made myself a coffee only. Still pretty weak, even though I measured it out to the proportions like what the guide book said. But tasty....

No cricket - but oh, yay, Hopman Cup tennis. Splendid! Of course, Taiwan was beaten fairly easily. Ah.

Almost finished this Bono on Bono book now. Like 3 chapters left, or something.

Did lots more crosswords.

Wrote like a whole page of my story. Don't think it was that funny, though.

Unfortunately, we forgot to do what all traditional Aussie families do last night, which was to watch the lotto draw. So I checked them online - 3 tickets, two numbers. And they were both supps. Great.

I downloaded all the songs from my old ipod, which I gave to my mum about a year and a half ago, so that I could properly sync it with this computer without it being, like, totally empty. They have ripped a few CDs from before, so it is about half full with that and mine - if I exclude all the Christian stuff, and the songs that were in aac format and thus protected.

Had entrees at 7:30, which were these things like pizza slices but using Lebanese bread and more of a Guatemalan (I guess?) type flavour. Not bad....

And then dinner proper was at 8 with rissoles. Good ol' rissole....

Watched Dagg Sea Scrolls, then Compass repeat on some guy that built all these churches in the diocese which we used to be in - Geraldton. Only in like the south of the diocese, though - Carnarvon was the closest place to us. But mum was a big admirer of his. I certainly thought his design for the Perth cathedral looked better than the present (half-demolished) one.

Then I watched Stuck on You, which was alright lah, up to the really, really, really bad ending. Which was really bad.

Saturday, December 29, 2007

Homer: "What a bleak and horrible future we live in!"

Made coffee, cos dad bought beans yesterday. Vittoria - which is alright, cos me and Mogli's favourite cafe in Subiaco - Vero - uses Vittoria.
It was too weak - but the taste was there. Not bad at all, I have to say. Except that....it was too weak.

Did more crosswords, read more book, wrote more story.

Watched cricket, but it finished, inevitably, with Australia winning easily.

Watched part of Lawrence of Arabia. Still not impressed.

Went to church. Much less crowded and less hot.
Used the ipod with my itrip for the journey there and back. Great.

Watched Doc Martin, part of some strange Nick Cave concert mix on channel 31 and Rockwiz.

"Wherever the centre of the universe is, this is the place its farthest from" - Luke Skywalker

Still cricket going on. *sigh*

Read more book, did more crosswords and wrote more story.

Watched The Simpsons.

Parent's friend came over for dinner. I had to drive him home.

Watched Jam & Jerusalem, and then Foyle's War. I just love this quality ABC programming...

Thursday, December 27, 2007

Marge: "I just like corn. Y'know; kitchen, corn...."

A not so hot day, but still spent most of it inside and downstairs. The cricket was still on....

Also did lots of crosswords, wrote a bit of story and read more of the Bono book.

Watched the Fleetwood Mac music DVD. Again.

Then watched some nature show about leopards, or something.

"Much ado about nothing" - Shakespeare

Weather still insanely hot. Like yesterday. So, just sat around indoors with the airconditioning. Except the odd brave venture upstairs, cos that's where the computer is - but you can't stay there for long.

Watched cricket. India = crap?

Continued reading Bono on Bono. He says some really intelligent stuff sometimes.

Did some crosswords and that.

Wrote a tiny bit more story. But not much.

Watched Friends. Then Black Books.

Tuesday, December 25, 2007

Bart: "Aren't we forgetting what this day is really all about - the birth of Santa?"

OK, most important things first: presents!
Got coffee machine – yay! (I was so totally not expecting that). Cleaned it, but no beans so will have to wait till tomorrow.
Got food, containers, DPS 40th anniversary cup, ‘sports’ bag, beauty products (fabulous!), lotto ticket and Simpsons trivia desk calendar.

Stayed inside nearly all day, cos it was too hot. Quite too hot.

Watched the music DVDs that I gave to my dad, and then listened to new CDs which were all his as well.

Continued reading Bono on Bono. I don't like the interviewer guy.

Did a tiny bit of story editing, cos I'd finally managed to get it all to work.

Charged my parents ipod, and copied the songs to the computer and downloaded new software. I've decided, in my infinite graciousness, to let my dad use my itrip in their car so he can see how it is.

Watched Blackadder’s Christmas Carol. Just as good the second time?

Watched some nature show about reptiles. Um, yay.

And then watched Howl’s Moving Castle. It was OK for the most part - not great. But the ending was quite bad.

"Santa Claus is gunning you down!" - Fry, Futurama

Almost straight after breakfast, mum decided that she absolutely had to do last minute shopping. So drove into Dunsborough.

Took my ICAA certificate, what Mogli broke, in to be framed. They said they'd ring and let me know the price - and I'm not expecting any change!
Got green boardshorts, more house stuff inc pillows and four books.
Did the normal shopping.
Got coffee from some Tealicious cafe right near where we parked the car. It was quite nice, and reasonably priced, but very, very, very slow.

Then, as usual, needed to fix various computer problems.
Fixed media player, by rolling back to v10, cos my parents' version of Windows is not authentic.
Fixed the Atari emulator – but had to download new version and its GUI is not very user friendly.

Got the thumb drive to be recognised for my laptop, finally - and then discovered that Word and Excel are apparently not installed properly and the CD-ROM drive was not responding again so I had to leave it for later. Gar!

Went to church for the children's mass for Christmas eve. As you'd expect, it was overly crowded, and also insanely hot.

Had the traditional Christmas dinner. OK lor...

Watched the 2nd half of Discworld: Hogfather. Yeah, it wasn't bad, I guess.

And finally, finished Crime and Punishment - yay! I have to say the epilogue wasn't very good. Oh well.

"I've been everywhere, man" - Johnny Cash

Got up about 10. Had a shower and did packing, then left about 11. Forgot to leave lights on and pack sleeping clothes.

Went to Leach highway Maccas; got nuggets and coffee. The coffee was so much better than the one me and Mogli got from the Maccas on Hay street in Jolimont a month or so ago.

Ipod died with about half an hour of the journey to go. Had to listen to rather bad local radio, with 'new' songs that I had heard to death on Nova already.

Got to parents house about 1:15. They arrived 15 minutes later.

So the first thing I did was charge my ipod by using my old laptop. It took ages, and certainly wasn't helped by the laptop constantly going into standby mode.
And then the thumb drive was not being recognised - aaargh!

Watched Wind in the Willows, a live action version starring people from Little Britain, apparently. But also Bob Hoskins as badger, although I didn't recognise him. Lots of deviations from the book, of course - like the canary coloured cart being red?

Watched the first half of Discworld: Hogfather on GWN. It wasn't bad. Actually, for a while I was worried that it was gonna be that stupid 'real like looking animation' stuff, like Beowulf - ew!

Started reading Bono on Bono, cos my mum had managed to pick it up from somewhere - probably the St Vincent De Paul shop, cos she works there. As in 'works'; cos its not real work if you don't get paid.

Saturday, December 22, 2007

Marge, Bart, Lisa: "We wanna go back to Springfield."

Got up about 8:30 after very bad sleep. Had a shower and then kept on with packing.
Cleaners arrived at 10, and left about 12.

The friend of the other house person who isn't around came over about 11, and I had to help him move all their upstairs, including the couch and table. Arranged to take fridge, at least.

Changed my clothes about 12, then Mogli and my parents both arrived about 12:15, and Si came about 12:45.
Put the vast majority of stuff into cars.
Mum stayed at the house, cos the carpet guy had just arrived. I went with Mogli, and Si and dad drove themselves.

Saw a hummer limo on Mill Point road way to Manning. Unpacked the stuff, then we went back and Si went home.

Went back and moved pretty much everything else, ie the fridge, chair, washing machine and last box, which was kinda coming apart. Mum still stayed at the house.
Mogli left after that, so I got a lift back with dad.

Went and had coffee at Dome, though we all had iced stuff.

Then we all went back to the house, so mum could see it. Then they went back to Mt Lawley. I did a tiny bit of unpacking – but not much.

The owner happened to pop round about 5, so I arranged to get an antenna installed, which should hopefully happen during the next two weeks.

Left at 6, and thus it was the first time I've worn shoes since Sunday afternoon. Got to Mt Lalwey before 6:30.
Went to Siena’s; had chicken and coke zero and vienna. Not bad, I guess. I wasn't feeling very hungry, for some reason.

Set up the TV with DVD and sound system, and then watched some more Las Vegas.

Set up computer, bed, clothes rack.

Saw lots of pests - cockroaches, mice, little bugs.

Watched LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring. It was some really very nice res.

Slept about 4.

Friday, December 21, 2007

It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it!

Stopped work at 12:30, cos the partner's decided that the varnish was too overpowering.
Left with Mogli at about 1. Took 3 more boxes, and my ICAA certificate to get framed. And reclaimed my camera transfer cord thing.
Got rid of the two huge boxes.

We had originally planned to get lunch at the corner shop, then go to get coffee and the bank. But, since we didn't have to work no more, we just decided to go back to Mogli's house.
Drove down Canning highway and got KFC. I got a filler - it didn't really live up to its name.
Went back to Mogli's house and ate a bit and watched more people getting tattoos.

Then played some more Beijing Olympics, trying to unlock the hidden stuff, even though we didn't know how. We were doing the missions - and getting quite far. But not seeming to do anything re: the hidden stuff.

So took a break and went to the bank. I had to deposit my refund cheque, and also draw money to pay the people tomorrow.

Went back and played more Wii. Mogli looked on the web and discovered it was the circuits that unlock stuff.
Left about 4.

Did some packing, but there wasn't much time so I just filled a few boxes and then watched some TV instead.
Mogli came about 7. Loaded some stuff and went and dropped it off.

Went to JB HiFi in Cannington. Got the TV - eventually. I had to lie down in the back of Mogli's uncle's Pajero driving back, so I could make sure it didn't fall over. Mogli thought it was very amusing, so was taking all these photos with his phone. And since I was like squeezed up against a TV, there wasn't much I could do about it.
And then Mogli discovered that the TV has no antenna - only a Foxtel satellite dish! So hopefully I can get a decoder, or something?

Went to Mogli's house then. Played some circuits. Discovered that it probably has to be individual circuit to unlock it! So Mogli played one by himself, with me helping out a bit, and we won one and got the trophy....but still haven't unlocked anything.

Went back and slept straight away, about 11.

Thursday, December 20, 2007

Mr Burns: "Get back to work!"

The painters finally got to the server room, and it got switched off accidentally. Then it was decided it had to be kept off anyway, so there was basically no way to work.
So, we went and got 'morning tea', though I got coffee only and Mogli got like some battered sausage. And we just walked there and walked back, so it wasn't much of a break.

Got 6 old boxes from the moving that the office is doing - they are a much better size so I'm gonna transfer the stuff in the huge boxes to those and throw the others away.

Mogli left at 1.

I went and got 3 months worth of contacts. Didn't have to pay nothing - yay! Private health insurance!
Then went and got petrol.
Then went back and ate lunch and read more book.
And kept reading for about another hour, cos the server was still turned off.

Had afternoon tea at 4:30 - scones and muffins and biscuits.
OH WELL!
I mean, that's who brought them in.

Left at 5:10 and took the Kings Park Road to Mounts Bay Road to Mill Point Road way to Manning Road and then to my new house. That first part took like 10 minutes....
Got there at 5:45 - the owner was there already. Took in like 3 suitcases that I'd had in my car all day, and got the keys. Left about 6:15.

Went to Mogli's house after, then straight to the KMart near-ish his house, but they didn't have Beijing Olympics. Went to Rick Hart. ALMOST bought the LG for 1400 - but it was fake HD.
Went to JB Hi-Fi. Got the game for the same price without trying. Then eventually settled (again) on the Samsung - yay!. But like $1700. And we have to pick it up ourselves, from the Cannington store, tomorrow night. OH WELL!
Left at like 8:30 - ai....

Went and got Kebabs. Really tasty, but not quite enough.... although Birdboy only ate half of his.
Then played some Olympics. Yay! Funness!
Gave Mogli two of the boxes, cos he wanted to tidy his room before he goes overseas, or something. Crazy.... I mean, to that extent.

Left about 9:30 or so. Transferred stuff from the big boxes to the small boxes.
Went to bed about 11, but got a call from Mogli at 11:15 to mention something unimportant. Yes....

Wednesday, December 19, 2007

1 Day, 2 Horizon West buses

Yes - one near Grant Thornton (nee: Bentley's MRI) on King's Park Road at 9:15AM and one near St Catherine's at 5:10PM. Bizzarro world!

Threw out some large pieces of desk. Got a screw pierce in the middle of my hand. Or else its stigmata? Also almost got some splinters. Yay!

Dropped Mogli at Subiaco, cos he had to do some MYOB stuff for a client, or something.

Went to Mogli's dad's place. Got a latte! Yay! Also some morning tea. I guess the clothes I wore helped - Mogli was complaining cos he thought I looked like I came straight from the beach, which was too unprofessional. But I wasn't even wearing boardshorts, for goodness sake!

Got back and still managed to find some work to do. But I think that's it for the day.

Ordered some more contact lenses. But they need to speak to the optometrist guy first, apparently.

Went to Kome for lunch, cos it was Mintee's congratulation lunch cos he passed his CPA exam - finally! I mean the lunch, not the passing. Although the results took a while, too....
Took us a while to find parking. Ended up parking two streets away, and then I was walking with all this stuff in my pockets so my shorts kept slipping....

Nothing going on in the afternoon. Boring!

Watched Friends, then Don't Forget the Lyrics. Ewwww.....

And its been a week since I stopped shaving - so here's the update picture, as Mogli requested.

Tuesday, December 18, 2007

Homer: "I never realised how boring this game is!"

Aaaahhhh....work. Dang.

Did proper work until about 11:30 or so. Then it was suddenly announced that most of the new furniture would be coming in by 2, so we suddenly had to stop and clear everything.
And although there was SOME clearing and lifting done, me (and others) spent a lot of time just sitting around. Well, standing, really, since the chairs were all moved to one side.

Thus took lunch 15 minutes earlier. Went to Harvey Norman at City West. Got the Krups coffee machine - $200 off!
Got takeaway latte from the cafe there. OK lah....

More boring waiting. Played some 'bowls', using the little yellow soccerballs that me and Mogli got for Daffodil Day, and his little red cricket ball as the target. But 911 was playing too, so we rotated.

Walked to the bank later so Mogli could deposit more money. I suspect drug trafficking.

Had lemonade from the fridge, cos there was this other guy who helped himself to two within an hour, and he didn't really seem to be doing any real physical stuff.

Cleared some rubbish. It was invigorating, really.

Got back to work by 4. Great..... Still nothing to do, though. Left at 5.

Watched Friends and then The Simpsons and Red Dwarf. But nout else on.

Watched the rest of Stranger than Fiction. Pretty good. Will Ferrell wasn't so over the top, so that was nice. And the author lady was good and quaint. Dustin Hoffman was his usual zany type self. And even Queen Latifah wasn't totally unbearable.

Somehow yesterday the CD-ROM drive on my bad laptop started working again, so I loaded word on. And because of that, I was considering the numerous possibilities of being able to work on my story in various places. Actually, that's really wishful thinking cos it doesn't seem to work when its not plugged in. But still.....
ANYWAY....
The point is that I was thus inspired to write some more of it. So I did. And its still progressing pretty well - as in, the creative juices are still working. But its hard slog. I think I'm getting a bit over descriptive, cos its not really moving forward fast enough. But then, its not really long enough, so maybe that's good? But there's bound to be extreme inconsistencies between the pace towards the start and now. And I'm no good at substantial rewrites.
Maybe watching Stranger than Fiction helped a bit too? Heh.

Monday, December 17, 2007

Homer: "I love these lazy Saturdays"

Yeah - ultra ultra casual day! Wore Tshirt and shorts and thongs. Felt kinda weird driving in rush hour like that....

Got to work and there was only one work person there but heaps of carpet people and a gluey floor and all the desks were like piled up in a corner. Then Mogli came in so we sat around not knowing what to do. Eventually the partners came down at 8:30 and told us to go home. DANG!

Me and Mogli went to the city. Walked around a bit and looked around Myer at TVs and ipod touch, and Mogli looked at his weird emo clothes and super ex sunglasses that look like women's ones.
Then went and got coffee at a place just outside. Really good but quite ex.
Went down to Borders for a bit, then to City Beach and then to Dick Smith cos Mogli was buying a Christmas present. Then went back to the car, which I left at work.

Drove straight to Taurus, which was closed. So went to Bullcreek Hawker. Had three meat rice, with Pepsi. Yum. Kinda.

Then went back to Mogli's house. Watched some bad Australian movie - Footy Legends - and then played some Wii.

Drove down to Harvey Norman's, but they didn't have the Krups for the same price.
Got some big boxes at a place nearby, though. I mean BIG boxes. A bit too big, but what can you do?

Then I went back home.
Tried to sign up for phone and internet, but the phone bit seemed too expensive, cos Mogli said you can get it for $20.

Watched The Simpsons and Friends.

Then started watching Stranger than Fiction. Pretty much exactly what I expected from the trailer - which is nice.

Sunday, December 16, 2007

"Boxes! There are boxes here! I smell boxes!" - Seinfeld

Saw Si. He came all the way from Canberra!

Went to Asian Cuisine with Leo for lunch. Got chicken hor fun. Yes, Mogli, yes.......

Then went to Mogli's house, getting Muzz Buzz on the way - peppermint flavoured for him, and vanilla for me. I think the plain is, y'know, just a LITTLE better...
Watched a bit of cricket, but it was raining (hooray!), so played Wii. Left at 3.

Went to Bunnings - no boxes! Met Leo and then went across to Limes - no boxes!

Left my car outside Bunnings and went to Garbo to Myer to look at coffee machines, but they didn't have the one I wanted. Then to DJs for the same reason - they did have the one I wanted, but it was $1000 (with a free pot roaster....). And I have no voucher for there. Went back to Myer to look at TVs. They were pretty ex. Compared to JBs, anyway.
Then went to AMart Allsports and KMart cos Leo wanted to look at cricket stuff. I could just imagine Mogli sighing at all the stuff he was considering buying.
Left at 5, cos it was closing.

Went to Yummy BBQ for dinner. Yay - dishes! Pretty tasty and fairly sizable. But not cheap. Obviously, its better with more people.

Went back and watched a bit of Friends (cos it was half over), Don't Forget the Lyrics and Erin Brockovich - another none too shabby type film.
Slept at 11..... whoops! But its ultra casual day tomorrow, so....

Saturday, December 15, 2007

Kent Brockman: "A chilling vision of things to come!"

Hung out the rest of my washing. Yes - it looks like its gonna be an exciting day!

Went shopping. Bought some new 'premium' shapes and M&Ms. Yay.

Took down all my posters from my room. Got rid of some more DVDs and books and miscellaneous junk - into packing, I mean, not bins.

Played some AOEII and QuakeIII.

Watched the rest of Seinfeld season 9 disc 2, including the backwards episode in reverse (ie, forwards). Nothing special....actually, it kinda really, really sucked.

Watched The Simpsons, then more Simpsons, then Friends. Gee, its just like a weekday!

Then I watched Clueless. Such a great film..... Seriously. Seriously!

Friday, December 14, 2007

"Of course madam! It's Christmas everyday in heaven!" - Monty Python's Meaning of Life

Smart casual day - so, like almost work attire. Sigh...

Did some work. Great.

Walked down to post a letter around 11, cos Mogli wanted to go to the bank. Fascinating.

Worked till just after 12:30. Then drove down to King's Park.

Went to Frasiers for the end of year Christmas lunch. It was outside, though. The food was good, but small portions.
Got a weird book on creative ways to waste time in the office for secret Santa.
Part of BGC was having their Christmas party down one level, so saw Elder K.
Heymeesh managed to fall off backwards off the level, but luckily there were heaps of burly BGC guys to catch her.
Left just before 5.

Went to pick up o about 5:30, after changing from evil smart casual clothes. Ewww....

Went along the freeway, which was very slow even at 5:45 on a Friday. There seemed to be some sort of accident which happened about two cars in front of us in the middle lane at the start of the narrows. Didn't help....

Went and got drinks from the IGA in Rossmoyne. More riding in the new car. Yay.

Swam for a bit. But only a little bit.

Had dinner and stuff. 13 decided there wasn't enough, so we went and got more pizza from Eagleboys, cos they had vouchers. Took my car this time - boo!

Left about 11.

Hung out washing and slept. It was too late, again. And I had all that stuff to do tomorrow?

Thursday, December 13, 2007

"It's FrUnkenstEEn!" - Young Frankenstein

Finally found some time to read a decent bit more of my book.

Went down to the city client in the morning. That was fun. As always.

Got a chicken schnitzel burger from the local shop on the way back - cos it was almost lunch and I was hungry.

Walked down to Epic with Mogli and got takeaway coffee. Had an odd conversation with the girl serving - she acted like we were old friends, but I don't ever remember speaking to her before, really. I mean, obviously we go there a lot and she works there - but I would've thought Mogli was more memorable, and she didn't say nothing to him.

Went and looked at latest place straight after work. OK lor... so I'm taking it. A bit ex maybe - what can you do?

Watched the rest of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Robert de Niro's best role ever? Ha!

Wednesday, December 12, 2007

"The weirdo with a beardo" - Stephen Cobert, Evan Almighty

I shaved this morning. Um....hooray.
And so, because the next three and a half weeks (cos this is only Wednesday...) will be either no or only pseudo work, I am taking this opportunity to do a late Movember type thing - so only shaving the sides and bottom of my head.

My arm had another encounter with Mogli's today. And, yes, I have the bruises to prove it...

Had morning tea - cup cakes. Not that they were cupcakes - but cos the partner than won the tipping for the Rugby World Cup and Melbourne Cup.

Walked down to Epic and got takeaway. Got one for Mogli too, cos he 'had' to work through his lunch break.

Have hopefully found a place now, cos I got a call out of nowhere. Looked at it on the web, cos it had just been sold - looks a lot more livable than the farmhouse.

Got Christmas bonus. Yay - wine! Um....but there was a Myer voucher in there too.

Watched The Simpsons and Friends.

Started watching Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, which was advertised strongly as starring Robert de Niro - as the monster, would you believe? His best role ever!

Tuesday, December 11, 2007

Millhouse: "This is where I come to cry"

Very bad sleeping last night, mainly due to the rather nastily warm temperatures. And then the office air-con was still not working. AHEM!

Had another rather long and pointless training session.
Got a picnic at the end of it, at least; cos Mogli traded me for a kinder surprise. Donno why.....

The people's partner brought fruit mince pies and rocky road for morning tea, but I didn't have any cos of the picnic.

At lunch, the sandwich maker stopped working so I threw it away. Had to eat an untoasted ham sandwich. Yech!
Went to Jaycar after that. Got my secret santa present - a USB powered mood traffic light. Yeah; at least it was cheap.

Watched Friends and Red Dwarf, which were good. Then watched Take Away, which was not. Another bad Australian film.
SIGH!

Monday, December 10, 2007

Homer: "And remember, if anything goes wrong, blame the guy who can't speak English"

Went for an extremely long overdue visit to some farmers. Great. Had tea and ate some hot food. That was good, at least.

Went to look at another property after eating lunch. OK I guess. Mogli came along for some reason, but just sat out in the car.
Then went and got Muzz Buzz - I think that was the reason. Yay!

The air conditioner stopped working again pretty much straight after lunch, as far as we could tell.

Watched The Simpsons and Friends. Goody o.

Got KFC for dinner, cos people were setting up pretty much permanent residency in the kitchen, and I waited around till 7:30 then realised there was gonna be no movement for many hours.

Watched the rest of Hollywoodland. Pretty boring. That's the problem with true stories, I guess.

Sunday, December 09, 2007

"There is no mafia" - Tony Soprano

Went for lunch at The Chan Place. Then went to look at The Farmhouse. Ai.... Pretty much everything I expected. Ai.....

Went and played cricket with Mogli, cos Leo was (apparently) having lunch with his parents. Um; yes.

Went home and did ironing and watched more Las Vegas.

Leo showed up around 4. Kept watching Las Vegas, which seemed to cause him to fall asleep, so watched some Seinfeld season 9 after that, including the backwards episode (but not forwards).

Went for dinner in Northbridge to Singapore Malay Indian restaurant (yup). Had lamb briyani. Was really tasty, but too small. Also Coke zero. Sweet... Well, sort of.

Watched Surviving Christmas. Pretty crappola, despite James Gandolfini. Though, I guess, what can you expect from Christmas movies?

Saturday, December 08, 2007

"The time of the elves...is over" - Galadriel, LOTR

Got up real late - like about 10:30. Donno why I slept so long.

Ate the rest of my cereal - mainly just to finish it off. Hooray!
But I still got some oats left....

Packed most of my DVDs and pretty much all my old clothes/linen. Now I'm out of boxes and not too many 'proper' bags left. Heaps of plastic bags, though.

Watched some more Las Vegas and did a little ironing - I figure cos of cricket and stuff tomorrow. Maybe.

Went shopping about 2. The store was absolutely devoid of chickens, so bought turkey and ham. My plan is to have turkey for the first few days, then eat the ham when it goes off. Assuming it will last that long.... Also bought pods (cos I'm giving the block chocolate a break) and cruskits (cos they were there... corn ones, too).
Realised that there won't be lunch on Friday, so I should've have bought so much meat. OH WELL!

Played QuakeIII and AOEII. This is living!

Watched Friends. Its so great that its on everyday.

Started watching Hollywoodland. Pretty boring so far.

Friday, December 07, 2007

Bart: "Its a Bart sales event; everything about me must go!"

Very boring day... mainly cos Mogli had taken carer's leave. Probably.

Took a really old laptop from the Accru PKJ free clearance sale. The battery seems pretty much dead, so I doubt its gonna be a lot of use.

Took a 10 minute lunch break.

Spent a while on Google Earth, cos firstly I was looking at ANOTHER prospective rental from the air, and then I was taking the tour. Yay.

Left just before 4 to look the rental property. Went home and got a change of clothes first.
Good locale, at least.... But the place was nothing flash.
Then I went and got an application form straight after, cos the agent didn't have any on hand.

Went to Mogli's house straight after. Got changed and then we went and played cricket for a bit.
Mintee passed his second CPA unit. So SOMEONE had a good day, at least....

Went home. Watched The Simpsons and then Friends.

Then watched Final Analysis - OK lor.... The start was really quite boring but then it got a bit more interesting I guess.

Life is the variety of spice

From Don't that make Sayings Sense?.

Went to Epic after eating lunch. Got skinny lattes.

Left work at 4 because, as I just discovered today, its the city client's Christmas party. And pretty much everyone else (of the pleb variety) had gone off for training, anyway.
Left about 5:40. Its good that I'm moving, cos it gave me something to talk to strangers about.

Watched The Simpsons and then Friends. How convenient that I managed to get home in time...

Played a bit of Quake III.

Watched The Pursuit of Happyness. Good acting, I guess, but I didn't like the main character, and I didn't really care that he succeeded. And stockbroking equals happiness? Um....

Thus slept too late again.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Got up just before 8:30.
Um, whoops. Either I didn't set my alarm, which is really weird, or I slept right through it, which is really weird.

Went and got cash and petrol, cos I needed it for the inspection I'm doing at lunch.
So got to work about 9:15.
OH WELL!

Spoke to Ali about her parent's property. Hmmm, yes; I guess it was too good to be true.

Went to look at property. Left just before 1. LOTS of cars in Leederville - cos I had to get the keys from the rental agent first.
Looked at property; um...not good. Drove by Ali's parent's property; um....just as bad.
Got KFC.
And didn't get back about 2:30, after going back to Leederville to return the keys.

Nout much else going on.

Watched The Simpsons and Friends. Quality.

Watched Heroes episode 11 of season 2. Nyeh... But that does seem to be the season finale, and Syler is STILL around............... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGHHHH!!!!!

Stolen Painting Found by Tree

Man, that tree's such a good citizen....
Seriously, that headline never ceases to make me laugh. Trees are soooo funny.

No training.... cos there's no boardroom. Groovy.

Went to Mogli's dad's place, after lodging another house application, for the one yesterday. Not hopeful...

Mogli got me takeaway from Epic, cos I was working through my lunchbreak.

Went to look at another property. Left about 3:45. Pretty OK but HEAPS of people - cars were along the street as far as you could see. Sort of. Got back about 4:20.

Went to look at another property, which was the Rossmoyne one from yesterday. Left just after 5 and got there about 5:35 - I hate rush hour traffic! Most people had left already, apparently. Really nice inside and a really large yard. Seemed under priced to me. I really doubt I'll get that one.

Went and got belt from 13's house. Rossmoyne really is a very nice suburb.
Got back about 6:15.

Watched Friends, then The Simpsons and Red Dwarf. Then Ocean's Eleven was on, so I watched that. And thus slept too late, cos it didn't finish till 11.

Post Number 800

Hello, and welcome to post number 800. I'm sure you'll find that its nothing special. And, well, why would it be?

Spent most of the day with fixing the computer and applying for rental inspection stuff.

Got ebay fixed quite fast - they have a live help so that was all very easy.
Hotmail was a bit more complicated; because they DON'T have live help. Bah! And they're normal standard slow help wasn't even loading! Double bah!
So I ended up sending off a query twice. Got some replies - but nothing sorted.

Went to Epic for coffee. Still good. Mogli doesn't really seem to think so, though.

Went for an inspection at 6:30. Got there almost exactly on time - but there were already people just hanging around outside. Don't really know why; but the tenant came out about 5 minutes later so we could all track through. Not bad at all.

Then went straight to 13 & o's house. They weren't there, so I went in by the side gate and got changed in the shed - cos I was still wearing business stuff. Ended up leaving my belt in there which I only noticed when I got home.
But then I was just about to jump in the pool when I decided to ring Mogli about the house. And I was just about to do that when they came back so I went in and watched foxtel instead.
Found another property in the meantime over in Rossmoyne. Apparently it was right near 13's favourite pizza place, so we ordered dinner from there.

In the meantime, swam for a bit. It was pretty coldish, though.
Then went and drove-by the property and got pizza. Had my first ride in their new car.

Watched My Super Ex Girlfriend on Foxtel. It wasn't really that super. Another comedy where nearly all the 'funny' parts were about sex, which isn't REALLY what you'd expect from a show with that title.
Watched a bit of Married...with Children after. Funny stuff!

Left with their garage door not working (so I had to get out manually) about 10:15.

Joe Blogs Lite - shorter, and better for you.

After church, stood around for a long while acting as a playground for small children, and then discussing the intricacies of nappy naming and ownership of with Ali.
Then went for lunch with Leo to Yuki, cos, surprisingly, Taurus and its counterpart were full.

Drove around for a while after that - went and got petrol for one thing. Then we parted ways for a while as we were both going to separate houses in Murdoch.

I went to Mogli's house to pick up screwdrivers to dismantle my cabinet so it was in more easily throwable portions. Then when I got there he really wanted to play cricket. Since that's what Leo and I were planning to do anyway, we changed the venue from Rosalie (which isn't even that nice) to the place near Mogli's house, which is shaded and more private.
Ended up playing for about 2.5 hours. Didn't finish till about 5.

Leo came to my house to help me dismantle the cabinet. Managed to do that, but it involved lots of violent actions.

Discovered that my Hotmail and ebay accounts had been hacked. Oh, that's just what I needed!

Watched Simpsons, then some Women's Day Christmas show while waiting for The Singing Bee at 7. Then I realised that the repeats of Friends start today, so I watched that at 7 instead. Leo left about halfway through.
The watched most of Don't forget the Lyrics, but it didn't look that good, so I went and got KFC in the middle. I was also really hungry.
Then watched some more Las Vegas. Managed to get some ironing done in the middle there.

Went to sleep worrying about my online privacy, amongst all the other things.

Moe: "I am no good at weddings, I am NO GOOD at weddings!"

Had to iron my white shirt so I could wear it - wanted to do it last night but it was too late when I didn't get round to it...

Got to the wedding 10 minutes early but it was still quite crowded inside already. Sat with Ali and discussed properties. Fascinating, really. Started about 10:20, due to the bride being fashionably late.

Went to Mogli's house straight after. Changed into shorts, then went straight to Taurus for lunch.
Had beef kway teow, of cos. He had chicken hor fun which I didn't even know existed.

Spent the next long amount of time driving around looking at rental properties from the outside trying to decide which were worth applying for. Got a shortlist of about 5, I think....there was a complicated system of tears since I had no pen.

Went back to Mogli's house and watched some weird TV. Some BBQ challenge, or something. Then played Wii - a bit of everything except golf.

Went home and watched more Las Vegas cos there wasn't really anything on TV. Again.

Didn't do any shopping today....
