"Where you live should not decide whether you live or whether you die" - U2, Crumbs From Your Table

I love the drums on that song....this lovely rat-tat-tat-tat thing. Anyway....

Alarm didn't go off, so got up at 7:15. Still managed to leave by the same time as yesterday.

Walked down to see some client. Just to drop off a piece of paper. I was supposed to get them to sign it and pay it and take it back, but they said they'd do it themselves. Sure....

Watched Ellen. Yay.
Got coffee from RocketFuel.

Damn! Only like 65% today, and it felt like I was getting so much done and worth so much damn money to this damn place. What is the point?

Why can nobody is this town drive properly? Hello - rush hour. The operative word being: RUSH!

Watched The Simpsons.

Then went to Bunnings to buy a round fluorescent bulb for my room. And bought...a round fluorescent bulb for my room. I think I can finally spell fluorescent right, now. That u before the o thing - what's up with that?

Watched Friends. Then an episode of Dilbert. Then played some Wii. Its almost impossible now to improve on my rankings, and they usually slide. Stoopid. Especially bowling. Its all just luck, really.

Watched Out of the Question. Its such a Saturday afternoon type show...
Or maybe ABC/SBS primetime.

NEWS FLASH WEATHER UPDATE: Predicted temperature for Wednesday - 29 degrees! Yes! Unbelievable, but true! A day....below 30! OMG! It'll only have been about 2.5 weeks by then.
Of course, that's after the 37 on Saturday. And the 36 or so tomorrow. Goody.

Did you notice something different around here?
Yes - I've had parts of the page translated into Japanese. I know it makes it a bit hard to read, but its more fun this way.
For me.

Carsten Bartens

Yes, good ol' Carsten!
For those who don't know, Mr Bartens is Welsh. He's not happy that a cotton bud was stuck in his son's ear for 9 years rendering him half deaf until one day it fell out when he was playing pool.
But I am. Cos it provided me with much amusement when I read the story this morning. Its not often you see a name like that. And the best part is its like a Moe the bartender prank phone call gag - cos they mention the son 'Jerome Bartens' and then at the bottom of the article they mention the father 'Carsten' and later mistakenly refer to him as 'Mr Carsten' and so you go 'wait a mo, that's not his surname' and then you discover his name must be 'Carsten Bartens' and man I can't get over how funny that is.
Is it just me?

Did more shopping at lunch, after watching a bit of Ellen. She's going on and on about how its her 50th birthday well lah di dah isn't that just great I mean fantastic she's getting old and obviously got nothing left to talk about so lets just drag this out as long as possible and gee look at all these great guests I've got today by the way see there's this boy who beat up an intruder wow super what a celebrity and then there's these three women who met on the internet and helped each other lose wait isn't that just great and not a complete waste of my time and there's the odd washed up actor or something who nobody outside of some tiny mid-western town in the US has even heard of let alone know what on earth is it that they do just shoot me now and save me the pain of it all please.
Anyway, good for her!

After shopping, got a latte from Cafe Vero. Decided pretty much not to go back there if possible, cos, really, their coffees not that good. Plus the lady said it was $3.80, when the menu says its only $3.40 (a machiato is $3.80) and I gave her $5.80 and she put my money in the till then ran out the back and I just stood there for 5 minutes waiting for my change and she never came back.

Did like 95% chargeable today. What a breakthrough! Oh. Yeah.

Left in a hurry and once again (like yesterday) forgot my shopping and had to go back around to get it.
Then traffic was INSANE - took my more than half an hour to drive home.

Watched The Simpsons, then Friends.

Watched some more Dilbert. Another two episodes or so. Its not easy to watch too many at once....

Played a bit of Wii tennis, baseball, bowling and golf.

I don't believe it - still 30+ (and, it seems, ever shall be) - but they're predicting rain! So far, Sunday THROUGH Thursday!!!!
Still my beating heart!

Airplane Guy: "If word of this gets out, Crazy Clown Airlines will be a laughing stock"

Read a little bit more book. Another chapter, or something. But that's misleading, cos there's like 12 'chapters', and each of them has like 10 'chapters'. So...they're not that long, is what I'm saying.
I thought I would've read a lot more what with Mogli not being around to distract me in the morning and at lunch. Well, what can you do?

I think I filled in the timesheet for Monday by accident. But maybe it defaults to the day that it actually is. Probably....
The point is I thought it was Monday. I think. At least, I think tomorrow's Tuesday. Except that I know its not. Its just that 'feeling'. Oooohhh....

Got a chicken schnitzel burger from local shoppe. Sigh. Wasting my money.

Watched a tiny bit of Ellen. OMG! She's back! Obviously no-one cares, cos I was the only one in the boardroom. I think everyone else is too scared, cos its too knew. Hah!
See, this is why I don't have feelings.

Went shopping. Bought too many bottles of stuff - cordial, milk, distilled water, orange juice....its weighty.

Watched The Simpsons, Friends, more Simpsons and Red Dwarf. The latter was one of the episodes I remember with great fondness - where they have wax versions of the best vs the worst people in history and Rimmer gets them all completely wiped out.
Yeah, things are never as good as you remember.
Well, mostly.

Played a little Wii tennis.

Watched Forces of Nature. Not a complete complete waste of my time. I mean, considering I would've only been watching DVDs or some other thing otherwise anyway....

Monday, January 28, 2008

Marge: "Whenever the wind whispers through the trees, I'll think 'Lowenstein, Lowenstein'"

Got up about 9:30. Strange - it felt earlier.

Watched the whole of disc 3 of Las Vegas season 3. That's another 5 episodes or so....

Watched a few more episodes of Dilbert. Up to disc 2. Um....

Played a bit of Wii. But it was a little on the too hot side.

Played some AOEII. See, that don't make you hot. Plus I can play sitting in front of the air-conditioner. But....

Did ironing, which I only remembered I had to do at about 1. I think the iron keeps tripping the power. Don't really know why, though. Maybe its time for ANOTHER new one? Guess I still have about $150 on that Myer voucher....

Watched Friends. But there was nothing else on TV.

Sunday, January 27, 2008

Lionel Hutz: "Y'know if you lived here, you'd be home by now"

Got a lift to church with Leo again.

Had my like favourite local guest speaker - Ps Josh Moyo. He was great, as always.

Waited around for ages for Leo to pass something to someone. That was real edge of your seat type stuff. Yeah.

Went to Singapore Hawker. Had satay beef. Oh, yay!

Went back and looked at the Simpsons poster. Leo thought V looks like Akira - the sushi waiter guy. Or chef, depending on which episode you watch.
Then watched Dilbert, cos Leo had borrowed the DVD. Weird stuff.

Went and looked at house at 2:15. But they said it wasn't open till 2:45, so went to the Korean shop near Taurus and got Nestea green tea with lemon and hung around Foo Wah for a bit. Leo found some weird bouncy ball what the Korean shop sells for $2 just lying there. Then went back and actually looked at the house. Looks nice and stuff, but small. Still....I'm leaning towards wanting it.

Watched more Dilbert.

Went and played a bit of cricket around 3:30, cos it had cooled down a bit. Quite a bit. Still warm, but, yknow. Have to make the best of this. Cos Leo had a new ball.

He left about 4:30.

Watched a bit more Dilbert.

Watched The Simpsons, then Friends. Then There's Something About Mary. Censored version. Which is probably a good thing.

Was planning to watch Crimson Tide, but was feeling too tired. And it was delayed an hour due to the tennis. Oh, Djokovich. Fan-tastic.

Saturday, January 26, 2008

Millhouse: "I think I'm gonna start hanging out with Lisa from now on. Y'know, for protection. And to be seen!"

Insanely unpleasant hot night. And morning....

Had cereal and watched episode 7 of season 3 of Las Vegas. They went back in time 40 years for some reason, which was a bit different, but only superficially, really.

Did washing.

Played some AOEII.

Went and looked at house - it didn't seem very good. Looked at some other house. It might be alright, but only saw the outside.

Went and bought a starter for the fluorescent light from Bunnings. But it did nothing. So maybe its the tube?

Watched episode 8 of season 3 of Las Vegas. It wasn't that bad...some stuff happening. Sort of.

Watched A Knight's Tale and The Patriot. Thus didn't sleep till 1:30. Bad mistake, I'm sure.

Friday, January 25, 2008

"Two shots of happy, one shot of sad" - U2

Casual day!

Was ready by like 7:15, so played some Wii. Got a high score in bowling, and did OK in golf. But tennis I just lost so I reset before it could record the score. And had coffee, but the milk frother was clogged so I think that made it taste a little off.

Left at 7:40. Got to work by 8:10. Most of the delays were around Manning and Hayman road, not the freeway and Hay street. Weird....

Did hardly any chargeable hours.

Mum rang to ask how to pronounce the name 'Chloe' (a guy) in Corinthians. I really had no idea.

Watched some cricket at lunch. Boooring.
Got a mocha from Epic. Since its Friday.... Unfortunately the weather lied to me - it was supposed to be 33 but as I found out later it was actually 36. Yes - not pleasant.

Had drinks with the new boardroom table. Left at 5:30.

Went and got changed and went to 13 & o's place to swim at 6:30. They weren't there, so I swam myself.
They came around 8.

Had pizza and Nandos for dinner. Watched Federa lose. Pity I don't really care.....

Watched The Myth, with Jackie Chan. OK lor....

Left after 12. Really, really tired.

Thursday, January 24, 2008

"Wonder of wonders! Miracle of miracles!" - Fiddler on the Roof

Yes - my modem has finally arrived!
And did it work? Do I have internet?
Yay!

Went down to city client. Fun! There was hardly anyone there - just me, the 'other' accounts guy and some temp.

On the way out, it had just passed 12 so some energy saving thing had kicked in and only two lifts were operating. So, needless to say, it stopped at every floor and got jammed full.

Sat in the boardroom and ate lunch while watching cricket. Oh, happy days!
Then went and got coffee from Rocket Fuel. Yes, it was 38 degrees.

Super boringly slow afternoon.

Installed my modem stuff. Yay!

Watched The Simpsons.

Since you probably missed them, I have photos on17th, 6th and 1st of January. That big one on the 1st (as in, not the long one) is my current desktop wallpaper - it looks like it should have a bible quote on it somewhere, or something. Lovely!

Watched Friends, then episode 6 of season 3 of Las Vegas. Same old stuff.

Played one game of tennis and bowling on Wii, but since it was about 105 degrees everywhere except in front of the air-con (which I am using for the 1st time, since I'm using my computer since it has internet) - you can understand why I didn't play longer.

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

"I have that strange feeling of deja vu..." - Monty Python

Rearranged for package to come to work tomorrow. Again.

Went to Mogli's dad's place. Had pistachios, peanuts and some danish thing.

Got coffee from Rocket Fuel. Too weak - the ones last week were vastly superior. I guess they have the good people in the morning. Much faster too.....

Tried the online transfer for Ozgrowth again. And THIS TIME it worked. Hoo-ray!

For some reason I was humming 'Drifting Further Away' by Powderfinger in my head most of the day. Thus, on the way home, I had to play Powderfinger on my ipod and cycle through about 65 songs to find it. Bah! That album deserved more cred.

Watched The Simpsons and Friends.

Played some Wii - all the sports except boxing. Its WAY too hot.

Saw the middle of Don't Forget the Lyrics, and the song was....'Have you ever seen the rain?' by CCR. Its fate, I tells ya.

Then watched Liar Liar. Such a great show...

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

Homer: "Sunrise, sunset. And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon. We have no bananas, we have no bananas...today!"

Faxed a transfer form to Etrade for Ozgrowth. Hopefully they can do it manually....Aaargghh!

Read a tiny bit more book.

Went to Epic and got a skinny latte. Probably the last from Epic for a while, cos its too damn hot. Today was only just bearable.
Also got cash from the ATM. Oh goody.

The boardroom table finally arrived. My modem, however, didn't. I was like, so surprised.

Picked up o from work cos 13 was working late - again!
OH WELL!

Dropped her home then went to my house and got changed and went back.

Swam for a while. Actually did laps, and it really made me rather tired. Hooray!

Watched the end of Jennifer Aniston movies - Friends With Money, then Rumour Has It. The former seems vastly superior to the latter, with neither being fabulously great.

Then watched part of The Daily Show, Whose Line is it Anyway, Just Shoot Me and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Left just before 10.

Simon Cowell - is he for real or just an idiot?

Monday, January 21, 2008

Flanders: "Oooh, they hum like angels! You're never lonely if you've got a fluorescent light!"

Rearranged for the package to come to work. Tomorrow, apparently...

Did shopping at lunch. Didn't buy anything exciting. I was sure they would have a starter for fluorescent lights - the lighting section was quite extensive. But, nothing....

Had to leave my keys in the letterbox this morning so some guy came to look at the stove, cos the electric ignition isn't working on one hotplate and the oven. Apparently they came - I think I only guess cos the microwave was switched off for some reason. That kinda freaked me out for a while.

Watched The Simpsons, and then Friends.

Played some Wii - tennis, golf & baseball. Then some Olympics, where I got 2nd for the 2nd last circuit on Master's class on the 3rd try and have thus unlocked everything. Hooray!

Watched the 5th episode of the 3rd season of Las Vegas.

Sunday, January 20, 2008

"Jesus is still alright with me" - DC Talk

Got a lift to church from Leo. Thus I had to wait afterwards.... and it took an extra long time, too. Still, I mean, theoretically, even if I did drive, I would've had to wait anyway, cos of the whole lunch thingy.

Speaking of that, went to Taurus BBQ and had 3 meat rice. It was a mixed bag, really. They don't have good chili, and I didn't think much of the rice or the duck. But the port (both styles) were good. Best char sui I've had for ages....so flavourful and sweet.

Walked from Taurus to the Foo Wah carpark, to chill the food out, see?
Then went and played cricket, at the good ol' Wilson Centenary Park nets. And a bit of soccer. Groovy.
Much better than last week. In terms of the temperature wasn't as insane.

After walking to Eureka! (emphasis mine) deli, went back and watched the rest of Casino. The DVD was acting up a bit....
Then watched most of Fiddler on the Roof. Ah, those funny Jews....

Leo left at 6.

Watched The Simpsons. OK lor.

Went and got KFC for dinner - my first like fast food outing since I've been at this place. Amazing....
Had the Filler combo. With upgrade, even though I didn't want it. Cos I paid by credit, having only $3.40 cash.

Watched Friends. Then watched the rest of Fiddler on the Roof.

Watched about half of Ray, but stopped about 10. Cos its long. And not that good.

Saturday, January 19, 2008

Millhouse: "We're through the looking glass here people"

Watched JFK. Cos I watched The Boyfriend Seinfeld episode a few days ago....

Parents came over to deliver more furniture - so now I have a table and two lounge chairs. And my ICAA certificate. Yay!
Had coffees. Goodo!
After lunch and watching tennis, they left and took like seven DVDs.

Watched about half of Casino. Cos I've been watching Las Vegas....

Watched Wimbledon. It was predictable, but it felt they were sincere about it. Yeah....

Then watched Courage Under Fire. I like the whole 'dignified military thing', but the story really just went round in circles for no apparent reason. Oh well.

Friday, January 18, 2008

"My man!" - THE American gangster

Such a much better nicer day. Almost cold....

Left about 8:15, again.
Got coffee from Rocket Fuel, again. So great...

Rained a bit when lining up outside. But insignificantly so.
Got a better seat with better people around.

First session was with Sam Evans. She was pretty screamy, as usual.
Second session was with some US dude, who looks like the guy from Extreme Makeover (the one that makes Backyard Blitz look like crap) on Foxtel. He was quoting lots of verses, which was nice.

Went back home. So, that's that, then.

Discovered a note from the modem delivery people, dated yesterday at 2:30. Grr.....
Rang to arrange to pick it up from the airport, but they have to 'get it out of storage' so said they'd ring back today or tomorrow. Um, yeah, sure they will.

Did washing. Yup.

Watched Ali. It was really, really, really boring. I mean, really!

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Mrs Flanders: "Yeah, you gotta help us doc - we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas!"

Waited from 8-1 for the modem. And, surprise surprise, it didn't arrive.

Watched some more Las Vegas and played Wii.

At basically the stroke of 1, went to Garbo, mainly for the air-conditioning. Got a telephone cord and a DVD rack from Myer - so I've used about 1/4 of my voucher! Sweet....

Got a VVL. Of course, there was a PS person there. I forgot they were all 'associated with Hillsong' and that. Yeah! Go Jesus!

Watched American Gangster. Surprisingly, it was really good. The main reason I wanted to see it was (I mean, apart from the obvious) it was written by the same guy that wrote (just the scripts, I think) Goodfellas and Casino. And it had a very similar feel, so that was nice. And a nice happy ending, too. I mean, considering....

Went and picked up o from West Perth, cos 13 was working late. Although I didn't get there till after 6, so it wasn't that beneficial.
Went back to their house.

Watched part of The Piano. Yeah, that sucks. And I didn't even get to see the famous bit at the end where she is like drowning with the piano, or something. Bah!

Went and had dinner at War's place. He tried to get me to join Pitcher Partners. I think I gave him the impression that I want to. Which is probably because I kinda do. I mean, this small insignificant firm dealy is getting tiresome.

Slept at 11:30 in hot house. Have I mentioned how much I love summer?

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

"Doo, doo, doo, looking out my back door" - CCR

At least I thought of a good quote for tomorrow....

Left about 8:15.
Went straight to Nedlands and got petrol. Then got coffee from Rocket Fuel. Ahhh...the joys of not having to work.

Got to Challenge Stadium about 9.
Speaker for first session was Chris Hill. It was about sin and stuff, with some reference to some fish-god, or something.
Speaker for second session was Reggie Dabbs. He told some story about Ruth, and her sister what moved to Chicago and started a talk-show.

Then it was 1:15, and electives didn't start till 2:45, so I went back home.

I've finished Las Vegas season 2, so started on season 3. Gee, its getting a bit repetitive, innit? Yeah....

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

"I see a bad moon rising" - CCR

What's with the Credence theme?

Had roast beef roll. Yes, its $6.20 now. And quite skimpy....

Got a call from the delivery company about the modem. They said they are coming Thursday morning between 8 and 1. That's just grand - cos I'm gonna have to miss the day session then, cos it finishes about 1 and its unlikely they're gonna show up anytime before 12.
Ironically, if I was working, I could just get it delivered to work and save myself the hassle.

Got changed at work and left about 5:15. Went to Challenge Stadium and got registration stuff. It wasn't THAT painful...

Then I went home.

Was too late for the 6pm Simpsons, but watched Friends, then The Simpsons, then Red Dwarf.

Then watched some more classic Seinfeld - The Limousine and The Boyfriend.

Monday, January 14, 2008

"I wanna know have you ever seen the rain?" - CCR

Heard today that Perth hasn't had any rain (officially) for 28 days, which makes it the longest dry spell in two years.
OMG! Global warming, etc, etc!
Sigh.

Journey took 25 minutes. Bah! So that's how its gonna be, is it?

Got chicken schnitzel burger for lunch.
Posted my change of address form to Computershare. Had to actually go to the post office to do it, cos work was out of stamps...
Went shopping. Didn't buy nothing exciting. But almost forgot my chicken - I only realised it wasn't there at the car and had to go back for it.

Did the staff bulletin. Took some comparative photos. How...interesting. Unfortunately, the originals were taken using the wrong mode, so the colour looks faded.

Watched The Simpsons, Friends, then a bit of tennis - but only while I was waiting for dinner to be ready.

Then watched old favourites of Seinfeld - The Chinese Restaurant, The Statue, The Library and The Pen. Yay!

Sunday, January 13, 2008

"We are the pirates who don't do anything" - Veggie Tales

Leo has shaved his mane....

Went to Rising Sun for lunch for all you can eat dim sum for $11. There was a V clone working the cash register. Probably didn't eat enough...there was no fried squid! Well, there was, but none came in our direction. Still, had lots of char sui pao and an egg tart. So, that was nice. Well, OK lah. The tea was really bad.

Went and played cricket at dodgy nets in Centenary park in Wilson. We only stayed a bit longer than half an hour, cos it was too hot and sunny. Damn summer - oh how it sucks!

Went back and watched some Seinfeld stuff. Good extras....

Played some Wii. Tried the Master's Class. Too hard.
ALMOST got to pro level in tennis. I'm only a pro at golf....bah! Although I did get four strikes in a row in bowling - but that was the first four rolls and after that I bombed out.

Watched The Simpsons. Leo left mid-way through.

Went to 13's house about 7.

Swam for a bit. Pretty chloriney.

Watched Don't Forget the Lyrics. Ai....

Then watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3, for the second time. Good show. Yeah.

Slept WAY too late.

Saturday, January 12, 2008

"Where am I? What kind of place is this?" - Elaine

Got up fairly late. Like 10:30.
Brought in the washing, in two loads cos it wasn't completely dry.

Ate cake for 'lunch'. So that's all of my lovely marble mudcake! Oh well. Still got lots of Christmas biscuits left.

Played some Wii. Up to the Master's Class circuits now.

Watched the rest of Seinfeld season 9. So only the extra features to go.

Moved most of my furniture into my bedroom, and also the most of the stuff I'm probably not going to use and the boxes into the spare bedroom.

Watched a few episodes of Las Vegas. Only 1 episode in season 3 left.

Watched the start and the end of Blue Crush. It was too bad to watch any more.

Watched Jerry Maguire, for the first time, surprisingly. Yeah, it wasn't good. Really not.

Friday, January 11, 2008

Bart: "You're looking at cucumber boy, as in cool as a"

Got to work and the air-con was off again. But it started working pretty soon after.

Took home a slightly damaged picture of a sea-eagle that was hanging in one of the partners' offices. I have this sense now where I'm always looking for art and couches. Its kinda annoying, really. Especially with the couches - cos they're all too expensive.

Change my address for Medicare. Stupid on-line system....
Lodged my loan application with ANZ. It got rejected by the fax machine.
Tried the etrade transfer with proper holder number. Didn't work - but it took longer to not work. So I guess I have to wait for the change of address form.

Went to Epic. Since it was Friday, got a mocha. $5.20.....

Boooring afternoon. Luckily, it ended. Eventually.

Watched The Simpsons and Friends, then The Mask of Zorro. Which is pretty OK.

Then watched The Gift. Interesting seeing Keanu Reeves in a role like that....hahaha! That Giovanni Ribisi guy is pretty typecast, too. Oh well.

Thursday, January 10, 2008

Homer: "The information superhighway showed the average person what some nerd thinks about Star Trek"

Went down to city client.

Discovered that the labels for the floors in the lift (on one of the three sets of floor buttons) were in the wrong order. It went, from left to right, 20-18-19-17, when it should have been 17-18-19-20. ANYWAY.... It confused me with people getting off at the 17th floor after the 19th when the voice said it was the 20th.

Stayed there till about 1.

Had lunch, then went and got coffee from Epic. Tasted a bit watery again.

Some more furniture arrived in the afternoon - the credenzas. Yay.

Applied to get a change of address form form Computershare, since the Ozgrowth shares have been transferred to a different SRN number.

Watched The Simpsons and Friends.

Played Wii. Won the first two circuits on advanced level. So now there is 400m.....great. High jump really makes your triceps feel it......I think cos there's so much running.

Watched more Seinfeld. Almost finished disc 3.

Then played some more Wii....baseball, mainly. Still not doing that well.

Wednesday, January 09, 2008

Life, etc.

20 something plus 3.... sigh.

Still quite warm in the morning.

Got a call from Optus rescheduling their fault appointment for Friday. Sigh....

Work....

Did my annual leave form at last. Well, partly, cos one of the partners isn't here.

Got coffee from Epic. Their prices have gone up 20c across the board pretty much. Tasted a bit watery.

Read a chapter or two more of The Agony and Ecstasy. Good ol' Michaelangelo....mostly fictionalised though, I am thinking.

Had cakes. Yay. Still got about half of my marble mudcake left, which is nice. The carrot cake all gone too, which is nice.

Discovered that my phone is now working. No thanks to Optus....

Leo and Ali came over. Got a weird book - must be Leo's choice. Maybe.
And my mail, including my proper holder number for OzGrowth!
Then Ali left. After the grand tour. Which wasn't that grand.

Played some Wii. Leo just watched.

Went to Wong Hawker, but there was no space so had to takeaway. Waited for AGES.

Got drinks from Caltex. Sprite. Yeah.

Went back and watched Seinfeld.

Leo left about 9:30.

Tuesday, January 08, 2008

"Nothing ever happens" - Del Amitri

Insanely hot morning.

Left 10 minutes later and the journey took 5 minutes longer than yesterday.

Went to Mogli's dad's place. Discovered that they have a Krups coffee machine in the kitchen - but its a very simple one.

Got back and did some fun, fun work. Took lunch 15 minutes late.

Went and got cakes from the Cheesecake Shop for my birthday tomorrow. Oh. Yay.

Did lots more fun work in the afternoon. What fun that was!

Watched The Simpsons.

Went to 13 & o's house. 13 was insisting that he needed to get into an exercise routine, so walked for half an hour.

Came back and swam for about 15 minutes.

Ate pizza and pasta. So, bye bye exercise, then.

Watched some Jay Leno and then Conan O'Brien.

Left about 10.

The house was still very warm. Super.

Monday, January 07, 2008

"Serenity now!" - Frank Costanza

Ah. Work.

Journey took 15 minutes. Maybe a little more. Breezy.

No change to office really at all. MAYBE an extra table or two. Carpet bit still not done, a few blinds not up, overhead cupboards still in hall, no bookcases or credenzas or boardroom table.

Spent ages trying to sort out etrade, optus and iinet. Got about iinet sorted (it was already) after being on hold for 40 minutes and had some progress with etrade. Maybe. Optus is just crap.

Did some work. SOME. Not much.

Bought a chicken schnitzel burger from corner shop. The prices have gone up. Again. Now its $5.90. The girl said $5.70 by accident - ahaha.

Went shopping. Yay! Stuff! BOORING!

Did very little in the afternoon. Spent another hour on the phone with Optus. Managed to cancel my old internet order and put in a new one. So that will be AT LEAST two weeks. Great.

Got bookcases. So I put my stuff in them. Yay.

Left at 5.

House was nice and warm, so moved my heater into the lounge and used the fan for my face when watching TV.

Watched The Simpsons. Then the power went off for half an hour, so missed a bit of Friends.

Then watched a few episodes of Seinfeld Season 9. Have watched about 3/4 of disc 1 now. And, of course, all of disc 2.

Slept with full fan.

Sunday, January 06, 2008

"Hanginaround" - Counting Crows

Had very bad sleep. Woke up about 20 times or so. Eventually got up about 7.

Started watching LOTR 3, since it was so early.

Got to church 20 minutes late, cos I couldn't remember if it was 9:30 or 10, so I guessed it was the latter and obviously it was the former. Went in and sat with Ali's dad - I suppose he forgot the time, too.

Went for lunch to Foo Wah with Leo, Si, Dewy, Shirley and Drafty. Didn't order dishes.....I guess cos it was too expensive, cos the individual stuff had gone up.

Stood around for a while outside. I think cos Si is leaving on Tuesday, so the two girls wanted to say goodbye.

Went to Si's house, eventually. Watched Flushed Away, while waiting for the food to settle. Some good bits... there were minor characters which were quite funny. The two main leads - nyeh.

Then went and played cricket with Si, his brother (me+l) and Leo at Southlands. It was...rather warm. And, since Si's brother is like 13, we only used tennis balls. Yup.

Went home and drank! Yay.

Watched the rest of LOTR 3.

Then watched Friends, Don't Forget the Lyrics (ai....it is so slowly paced) and Heist. It had some good actors, but a rather irritating twisty turny story.

A horse is a horse, of course of course

Got up at 6:30. Had a shower and toast and tea and left about 7:10.

Arrived just after 10. Waited for the antenna guy till 10:35. Then left, cos I was supposed to go to Mogli's house to pick up his Wii at 10:30.
Got about 5 minutes down Leach then the antenna guy rang so I went back.
He was done by 12. So...TV. Yay.

Went to Mogli's house then. Took his Wii and also got Heroes back.

Did some unpacking. Eh...

Started watching LOTR 2.

Went and got my mail from Ali. There was hardly anything there. Hmm.

Went to the local deli. Got some groceries - bread, milk, butter, cordial, chips. The essentials, y'know?

Finished watching LOTR 2. That was fun.

Tried to sort out phone with Optus cos it wasn't working. It took ages, and didn't really seem to accomplish anything. Except that according to them its fine, but not on my end. Said they'd send out some guy by Monday at 4.

Watched part of Nutty Professor. Nyeh.

Played some Wii - tennis and golf, and some tennis and boxing training. Its a little too warm for that.

Watched part of Gladiator. Great. But too long.

Slept about 12.

"It is over!" - King Theodin, LOTR

Made coffees for everybody. Last ones for here.... How sad.

Went and looked at paintings of some big lake somewhere (which is mainly dry) cos my parents had been there and they wanted to see his impressions - cos he was in Dampier many years ago and they knew of his work or something. Anyway, there were no giant figures, so they weren't very impressed. Heh.

Did most of packing, and managed to fit it all into the car. Only just though, really.

Charged my ipod; again. It took longer than I expected, cos I hadn't used it at all..

Watched cricket and tennis. India is actually in front - unbelievable!

Parents got their ipod car thing, which I ordered on Wednesday night. Goodo. It was late, though, cos it came at like 4:30. Mum was convinced it wouldn't come at all. So, better than never, as they say.

Watched The Simpsons then Mr Bean.

Aunt came about 5. So that was something different. Kinda.

A branch fell from the tree just outside the door. A biggish one, but not huge. If it made a noise, I didn't hear it. And it kinda just fell for like no reason at all.

Watched part of the Hopman Cup finals. USA won. Well, gee.

Watched Four Weddings and a Funeral instead. Yay! Such a great film! So much better than that terrible Love Actually thing.

Slept about 11:30.

"Out for a duck" - The Howzat! Scratch 'n' Win ad

Saw lotto ad for scratch and win ticket called Howzat!, where the guy goes 'out for a duck' which is, surely, Good Fortune in Northbridge. Surely?

Made coffees for everybody. It seemed to go down OK... Nice and hot, at least.

Got birthday presents? Yes, my mum thought it was my birthday. And it was the last day before other people arrive, before I leave, before my birthday, so.... They were two framed Egyptian pictures. Interesting.

Both parents were away from about 10 to 4. So I sat around in the hot house by myself. Cos we had to save power, so I only had the fan. Super.

Watched cricket, tennis. India ain't doin' too badly there, is them?

Kept reading book. Got even less further than yesterday. Well, further, but by less. Yes.

Tried to wash car. Succeeded, in part. But it was too hot. Plus, I had very little water to work with. And it got dirty too quick, and you know what they say? Well, anyway, its true.

Watched Futurama, The Simpsons and Mr Bean.
Then there was no TV on after dinner, so watched 1 episode of Auntie Jack, then a few of The Goodies on DVD.

It just ain't cricket!

No...it's tennis. Actually, maybe it is cricket? BTW, am I copying that blog title from SOMEONE ELSE? I think I might be....

Had coffee. Tried to get a double shot, but I don't think it worked. Still, it seemed stronger to me...

Watched cricket. Then a bit of tennis. Such excitement!

Read a bit of book. But not much. Donno why, really. It seems good.

Finally finished updating my parents' ipod. Ended up putting most of MY music back on, since mum said that 'she wanted something different'. OH WELL!

Watched Futurama, The Simpsons and then Mr Bean.

Got a phone call from the framing shop; my ICAA certificate will cost $90. But it won't be ready till next week - so my parents will have to get it and bring it up when they come on the 16th, or something. I paid for it already, though. So I assume it will cost $90...

Watched some more great ABC shows; My Family, The Complete Guide to Parenting, Black Books, and Life on Mars. They were all comedies, except the last which is a police show starring a time traveller - but it doesn't really have much to do with time travelling, really. Like that Journeyman I guess. Maybe - I mean, I've only seen the ads.

The Year of Living Dangerously

Yes, I can't be bothered of thinking of some proper new year's quote. Its all too predictable, anyway.

Had coffee. Really reminded me of Epic....heheh.

Watched more tennis. Oh yay.

Finished The Great Divorce. Nyeh, I didn't think much of that. I really don't understand CS Lewis' allegory type things, I think. But Narnia was good...

Started The Agony and the Ecstasy. Interesting.

Watched The Simpsons then more Simpsons (I think because it was new years day, so they didn't have their local news), then Mr Bean.

Started ripping parent's CDs for ipod music, since I took off all my Christian stuff and now there is a huge void - like a third of the ipod space. Which is only about 250 songs or so, but still...

Watched most of 20 to 1. Sigh - Erin Brocovich at number 3 of heroes and villains? Sigh.

Had fish for dinner - yuk! Well, it wasn't that bad. I couldn't really taste anything. But whoever heard of a steak with these stupid tiny little invisible bones? Huh? Yeah!

Went and took photo of sunset. The photos seemed too pink compared to the actual, even though I tried it in like every mode possible. I think the sun is just too bright. Compared with all that duskiness. Also tried taking extreme long distance photos of kangaroos.

Watched Collateral Damage. Great. I've seen it before, so....
