My response to the weather bureau.
Well, from last night they changed the weather. Just standard 'thunderstorm risk' again, and its 34. And tomorrow is the same - 34. Thursday is now the cool day with showers. Whatever they reckon...
Read some more book.
And today one of the toilets - the boys one - was being painted. And there was no way I was gonna use the women's facilities (I wouldn't even know what they look like or how they work) so needless to say the afternoon was rather....uncomfortable. I mean, more than usual. Coffee doing its business, etc.
Mogli's dad came wandering through the office, apparently for like the first time ever. I was considering mentioning it to the remaining back staff, as I'm sure they would've had NO idea who he was (except that it was ANOTHER client being given the tour). But I figured Mogli likes to keep some of the mystery about him intact. And I just had the feeling that if he knew he'd beat me up. Or have a hissy fit. Donno which is worse.
No Ellen cos the boardroom was kinda being used. Or kinda not. I didn't know, which was the point.
Got coffee from Rocketfuel. ALMOST tried to walk down to Epic, but could not.
"You beat me, weather!", etc.
Its been bugging me for a while, so I finally went and checked my blog - which doesn't prove anything, but it makes a pretty strong case. Cos, well, I wrote it.
July 17, 2007. At Bondi beach. Was feeling hungry and quote, "V saw a Hungry Jacks, so we went and had lunch first". HUNGRY JACKS. Not Burger King. And I would not make a Freudian Slip on that, cos its one of my life long dreams to go to a Burger King. One of my other life long dreams was to have coffee at Starbucks, and I did it on July 1, remember? And again a few more times.
Anyway, so I don't know what's going on there....Maybe that's the only one in Sydney? Cos they want to impress all the tourists that go to Bondi with weird foreign (ie, WAn) food?
Interestingly, I also found some miscellaneous spelling and grammatical errors, so I fixed those too.
Damn, that was a great 3 weeks. Such an experience.....
Sigh....
I seriously have to go back again this year. Or, at least, somewhere else.
Bought milk from the local deli on the way home. Eureka!
Watched Friends, and then ANOTHER episode of Dilbert. Then played some more Wii. I think the exciting possibility of rain within the next 3 years stimulated my want of exercise.
There was a seriously overpowering smell of rain around early evening. But I concluded it was a tease, cos the only water I saw is like that which leaks out from an air-conditioner. Which leads me to suspect there's one lurking in the roof somewhere....
Watched Raising Helen, starring Claire Bennett. Sort of. She was one of the children, anyway.
It was pretty much what you'd expect. If what you'd expect is a pretty run-of-the-mill kinda thingy. Which more or less was a complete waste of time where nothing really happened.
