The Rose, by Bette Midler
Some say tax, it is a burden
That takes a lot of days
Some say tax, it is very boring
And causes you to stargaze
Some say tax, it is confusing
Like an illogical maze
I say tax, its my occupation
But maybe its just a phase
It’s the individual afraid of spending that never gets a big tax break
It’s the company that does law bending who’ll often large refunds take
It’s the trust that tries profit mending who aggravates your headache
And the superfund averse to investing that never any income makes
When the night has been too lonely and the day has been too long
That you think write-ons are only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter when air-conditioners aren’t turned on
Lies a crowd that, since its tax time, will ensure all write-ons are gone
