Homer: "Its like David vs Goliath. Only this time - David won!"
Lisa's brain: "I know; I heard it too. Here's some music."
(classical plays. Lisa smiles strangely)
Woke up about 8. Had my shower almost straight away. Ate breakfast without watching anything, cos there were boxes in the way of the TV from the table. Did my washing, cos I had practically no clothes left.
Watched more Seinfeld - just because I wanted to finish it off. Had about 3 episodes to go, so watched them all, plus the inside looks and deleted scenes. Ah, tis funny! Can't wait for season 7, now.
*sigh*
Watched 'Billy Bathgate' after that. Was another good mobster film. Not as good as Goodfellas, Casino or Donnie Brasco, but better than Scarface and Godfather part II. Interesting to see Dustin Hoffman, Bruce Willis and Nicole Kidman in a mobster show.
My dad came over at about 2, so went to Terrazza for coffee. Also got card with money from my parents.
Watched 'Hart's War' in the afternoon. Wasn't what I was expecting - mainly about a phoney trial in the middle of a German POW camp during WWII. And most of the phoney trial issues were about race. So it was, on the whole, confusing as to what the film was about, exactly. And the ending was just too touchy-feely type over-generalisation thing.
Watched a bit of news, cos there was a cyclone headed for Dampier (where I used to live). Unfortunately, none of the shots they showed were long enough or well defined spots. But it hasn't really hit yet, so maybe the footage tommorrow will be better.
Heard about a lady from Gosnells who won $6mil on Powerball. And the story made a big point of saying that she bought 3 lottery tickets a week, cos a psychic had told her about 20 years ago in England that she would come into a large sum of money. I mean, how accurate can you get? Maybe, though, if she saved the money from those lottery tickets, and all the other gambling, etc, that she would've bought, she might've been able to move out of her Homeswest home a long time before this. But, you can't go against your psychic, right? Except that she said it would happen, no matter what. Obviously, karma needs a helping hand......
*sigh*
Got a phone call from my mum - apparently, they managed to wipe part of c:\ when it shouldv'e been a:\. Not fixable over the phone (surprise, surprise).
Went to Fantastico for dinner (now, theres a place that don't live up to its name). Somehow, 12 other people showed up. Had chicken, which was small and not too tender and strangley flavoured. Also, they charge about $6 per bottle of water - that are none too big.
Back home, watched one of my birthday presents from the cell, chosen by me - 'Battle Royale'. Si, Katy and Shar watched it too - for the first time. Obviously, it is not for everyone's taste. I think by the end they appreciated its point of view, even though its a little over the top. Or maybe it was just relief laughter that it was over.
Now, once again, it is too late.
